Terrific Tuesday

Hi all

Yesterday was a terrific day here on the IOW!
In the morning the children took part in a variety of activities that challenged their teamwork skills as well as testing them physically. Archery, Caving, Abseiling, Orienteering and the terrifying 3G swing were all on the menu. A group also went swimming [a first for Honeywell at the IOW] and had great fun playing water polo.
Overcast skies but mild weather meant that the children had a fabulous afternoon down at the beach. All the children took part in Mr Reed's "Big and Beautiful" sandcastle competition. Their castles were huge and impressive but even Honeywell's finest couldn't fend off the tide! After hours of designing, digging and building they then played games on the beach or relaxed in the beach cafe; the owners commented on the children's fine manners!!
In the evening all relaxed and watched 'Despicable Me' at the cinema before going to bed for a well earned rest.
Today, more exciting activities are planned and 6DE are looking forward to the arrival of Ms Drew. Later all will put on their glad rags for tonight's disco and dance the night away! Make up and hair gel will undoubtedly be liberally applied[and that's just the teachers!]
Finally, history as made yesterday when some of the children's dormitories were awarded full marks [10] when inspected by the fastidious judge [Mr Reed!]. This has been an impossible task to achieve in the past so the children in question are very proud!

Year 6 teachers xx
